In Memoriam: Senior Counsel and Former Partner Patrick J. Quane (1946-2021)
June 29, 2021
Patrick Quane, who played an integral role in Fragomen’s growth for many decades, passed away on June 23 surrounded by his loving family. He was 74.
Pat, who became Partner in 1977, was with the firm for more than 40 years. Based in New York, he conceived and headed up a dedicated legal team to provide representation of clients in all types of proceedings at local U.S. immigration offices and other government agencies involved in the immigration process.
By working closely with these agencies over many years, he established important relationships with key government officials that continue to enable our firm to bring problematic, sensitive and urgent matters to the attention of the appropriate decision makers whenever it is necessary. Pat retired as a Partner of the firm in December 2017, but continued to work on behalf of our clients in Senior Counsel status.
“Pat Quane was a pillar of the firm during our amazing growth”, said Fragomen Chairman Austin T. Fragomen, Jr. “He played a critical role in building a strong relationship of mutual trust with the government officials with whom the firm dealt daily, which was essential to the reputation of the firm. He was a trusted colleague whose endearing sense of humor and good judgment brightened any situation. We will certainly miss him.”
Pat is survived by his wife Laureen, five children and several grandchildren.
