India: Consular Presence Expands in the United States
August 4, 2025
The Indian government is expanding its consular presence in the United States with the opening of eight new Indian Consular Application Centers (ICACs) in the cities of Raleigh, Orlando, San Jose, Dallas, Detroit, Columbus, Edison, and Boston, beginning August 1, 2025. ICACs are outsourcing centers in the United States which accept consular, visa, Overseas Citizenship of India, and other immigration applications on behalf of Indian missions abroad. These new centers, along with an additional one planned for Los Angeles, will bring the total number of ICACs in the United States to 17, improving accessibility for Indian citizens and the Indian diaspora. Furthermore, all 17 ICACs will now operate six days a week, including Saturdays, to better accommodate scheduling. Additionally, the Indian government is considering opening two new Indian consulates in Boston and Los Angeles. We are tracking the developments closely and will provide updates upon their progress.
