Indonesia: Processing Delays Following Ongoing Anti-Corruption Investigations

Recent anti-corruption investigations by Indonesia's Corruption Eradication Commission, including an operation involving alleged corrupt practices at the West Jakarta Immigration Office, have resulted in operational disruptions across several immigration offices. The investigations are continuing in multiple locations, including Bali and West Java, leading to extended processing times and temporary service limitations.
Affected processing times include:
- Standard processing time of the Work Visa has increased from approximately five business days to at least seven working days and, in some cases, up to 10–11 business days.
- Exit Permit Only applications at the local immigration offices, which were previously processed within two business days, are now taking approximately three to five business days.
- Similarly, TSP/ERP (No Return Exit Permit) applications have increased from three to five business days to approximately seven business days.
In addition, the scope of on-site assistance available during biometric appointments for ITAS extensions has been reduced. While representatives were previously able to provide support throughout the entire appointment process, assistance is now generally limited to guidance up until the registration counter. Requests for in-person consultations with immigration officers are also currently restricted, with most communications being conducted through official hotline channels.
