Iraq: New Corporate Requirement for Residency Applications

Effective immediately, employers applying for initial or renewed residency permits on behalf of a foreign national in Iraqi Kurdistan must include the company’s Trade Camber Identity Card with the application. Previously, this document was not required. A Trade Chamber identity card is a unique identity document issued to employers in Iraqi Kurdistan. Companies that do not yet have this document can apply for it by registering with the Chamber of Commerce in Erbil.
