According to a new process, doctors on General Employment Permits in public hospitals are now eligible to apply for Stamp 4 immigration status after 21 months, whereas previously only doctors holding Critical Skills Employment Permits were automatically eligible to apply for this permission type. Eligible applicants will now benefit from a streamlined Stamp 4 application process during which they will only need to submit one application once they meet the 21-month requirement. This change is part of a wider scheme to accommodate non-European Economic Area medical doctors in Ireland.
