Italy: Quota Spot Application Window Postponed
February 7, 2024
Italy has postponed the dates when foreign nationals can apply for one of the 151,000 work permit quotas listed for 2024. Applicants can now submit applications according to the following shifted schedule: from March 18, 2024 for non-seasonal employees from countries with certain bilateral trade or migration agreements with Italy; from March 21, 2024 for other non-seasonal employees; and from March 25, 2024 for seasonal workers. Permits under the quota are granted on a first-come, first-served basis – with quotas often filled on or around the first day that they are offered. The application window was originally scheduled to commence in early February 2024. Italy has also clarified the specific allocation of quota spots as follows: 89,050 for seasonal work; 61,250 for non-seasonal work; and 700 for self-employed individuals.
