Luxembourg: Authorities Recommence Issuing Immigration Documents Following Temporary Pause
December 15, 2023
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Immigration Department (now falling under The Ministry of Internal Affairs) has recommenced issuing all immigration-related documentation following a temporary pause which commenced in late November 2023. Authorities had earlier said that all foreign workers currently in Luxembourg who are awaiting either initial or extended work permits will not lose their legal migration status if their immigration documentation expired during or after the suspension period. Despite the recommencement of processing, there may be delays due to a backlog of applications, and affected individuals and employers may need to postpone work start dates.
