Malaysia: Afghani Applicants Subject to Additional Documentary Requirements for Employment Passes and Dependent Passes

Afghan nationals submitting Employment Pass applications to the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation must now submit a copy of their educational certificate with the original attestation/original certified true copy obtained from an Afghani consular post in Malaysia or the Malaysian Embassy nearest to Afghanistan. Afghan nationals submitting Dependent Pass applications to the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation must now also submit a copy of marriage/birth certificate or proof of relationship documents with original attestation/original certified true copy from an Afghani consular post in Malaysia or the Malaysian Embassy nearest to Afghanistan. Previously, only a scanned copy of the attested/certified document was required. These newly-required documents will not be returned to the applicant. This requirement was already in place for nationals of Bangladesh, Mainland China, Colombia, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Nigeria and Pakistan and has now been extended to Afghanistan.
