Malaysia: Electronic Pass Implementation Expanded for Foreign Knowledge Workers

The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) implemented the Electronic Pass (ePass) for renewal applications of Foreign Knowledge Workers (FKWs) and their dependents. This is in line with the Expatriate Services Division's introduction of the ePass system for Employment Pass and Dependents' Employment Pass renewal applications in December 2022. Companies under the MDEC can now download and print the ePass directly from the government system, streamlining the renewal process by eliminating the need for physical endorsement stickers on applicants' passports. FKWs and their dependents must ensure that the ePass is attached to their passport as identification at all times while in Malaysia.
