Malaysia: ePASS to be Expanded to New Pass Applications in MyXpats Centre
February 18, 2025

Starting March 1, 2025, applicants for new Employment Passes, Dependent Passes, Professional Visit Passes, and other immigration applications at the MyXpats Centre will need to print out an ePass and carry it when they travel. This replaces the endorsement sticker that used to be glued to the traveler’s passport to prove these statuses. Previously, ePasses were only issued for renewal applicants. This change is meant to free up more passport pages for travelers, to ease the issuance of passes and to move forward with the country’s digital transformation in immigration processes. This policy is likely to be expanded to companies under Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC); we are awaiting MDEC's official announcement for confirmation and will update this news brief if that occurs.
