Malaysia: Issuance of I-Kad Cards for Certain Employment Pass Holders

The Expatriate Services Division (ESD) of Malaysia has started re-issuing i-Kad cards to Employment Pass (EP) holders who work with ESD-registered companies, after issuance was halted in 2017. This re-issuance specifically pertains to those seeking to transfer endorsements from an old passport to a new one. The i-Kad card serves as an alternative official identification document to a valid passport, exclusively in West (Peninsular) Malaysia and incorporates the data of EP holders according to the EP endorsement.
