Malaysia: New Investor Visa Introduced
October 13, 2022
The Malaysian government has introduced the new Premium Visa Programme, otherwise known as the Residency Through Investment Programme. Foreign nationals from all countries (except Israel) earning a monthly income of at least MYR 40,000 who invest at least one million MYR in a Malaysian bank can apply for the new visa. Holders will be able to work, study and invest in Malaysia for the duration of the visa, which can be granted for up to 20 years. This contrasts with the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Investor Visa, which only provides the right to reside in Malaysia, but not the right to work and study.
