Malaysia: New Online Portal for Manufacturing and Services Sectors

Malaysia has introduced an enhanced and centralized foreign national application system for the manufacturing and selected services sectors under the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). The initiative consolidates the application process within MIDA while utilizing the existing Xpats Gateway platform. Under the new framework, MIDA will oversee all stages of the application process, including post approvals, Employment Pass (EP) and Employment Pass for Foreign Graduates (EP-FG) approvals, Professional Visit Pass (PVP) approvals, Dependant Pass approvals and endorsement of approved passes. The centralized system provides a single login and introduces a streamlined, end-to-end process aligned with existing processing timelines. 

Companies should update their account details in the InvestMalaysia portal under the Expatriate Module to facilitate efficient processing.    

This development supports the establishment of MIDA’s Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre as a one-stop center and reflects Malaysia’s broader efforts to enhance investment facilitation while maintaining flexibility to accommodate future immigration pathways.
