
Update May 4, 2026: Effective May 15, 2026, the Malaysian government has introduced revised conditions for online appeal submissions for rejected Employment Pass (EP) and Professional Visit Pass (PVP) applications filed through the Expatriate Services Division system. Under the new framework, appeals must be submitted within 14 days from the date of rejection at the Expatriate Committee Meeting, significantly shortening the previous six-month timeframe. The appeal facility will only be available during this 14-day window and late submissions will not be accepted. Additionally, once an appeal is lodged, the application fee is non-refundable. Authorities also emphasize that all supporting documents and justifications must be complete at the time of submission, as incomplete or late appeals will not be considered.
May 6, 2025: Effective May 2, 2025, the MYXpats Centre has announced that all appeal submissions for rejected Employment Pass and Professional Visit Pass-Expert applications must be made directly through the Expatriate Services Division online system. Manual submissions via email or at the MYXpats Centre will no longer be accepted as of May 1, 2025. The "Appeal" button will be enabled once an application is officially rejected in the system. Appeals must be submitted within six months from the date of rejection, and no refunds will be issued once an appeal has been filed.
