Effective April 1, 2025, the Malaysian government will implement a special investor pass to facilitate extended stays for foreign investors and foreign nationals. This new pass will permit an initial six-month stay, with the possibility of a six-month extension based on individual requirements. Additionally, holders will receive a Multiple-Entry Visa (MEV), allowing for more flexible travel arrangements. Currently, foreign investors are granted social visit passes valid for only 14 to 90 days, depending on their country of origin. Applicants will be able to submit an application for the special investors pass electronically through the Xpats Gateway platform. More information is available on the Xpats Gateway website.
