Mexico: New Digital Exit Form Now Required for Mexican Nationals
December 1, 2025
Mexico has implemented a new digital requirement for all Mexican nationals departing the country, effective immediately. Mexican nationals must now complete the Formato Estadístico para Mexicanos (FEM) online as part of the government’s broader digitalization strategy. The digital form replaces the paper version previously used by the National Migration Institute (INM) to collect basic statistical information from individuals leaving Mexico. The FEM can be completed on any electronic device through the official INM website or by scanning QR codes displayed in international airports in Mexico. Upon submission, travelers receive a digital confirmation that must be presented before boarding. Those with a Llave MX digital identity account may log in to have their personal data preloaded, streamlining the process. The digital FEM requests the same information as the paper version before, including personal details, mode of travel, destination, residence and purpose of travel. Mexican nationals are advised to complete the form in advance of their departure to avoid delays.
