Mexico: Passport Process Streamlined

The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reduced the number of required documents for passport applications, enabling faster service. The Ministry can now directly access civil registry records, meaning most passport applicants no longer need to obtain and submit birth, marriage, death, or adoption certificates, among other documents, as was required previously. The passport office will only request these documents in certain cases, such as when digital systems cannot access the necessary records. This simplified process is expected to save passport applicants time, costs and administrative hurdles.
