Namibia: E-services Platform Launched
March 22, 2023
The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security (MHISS) has launched a digital platform for payments for digital passports (currently only available in Windhoek), identity cards, and six-month short-term employment permits (e-visa) and for applicants to track the progress of their applications. In addition, applicants may book appointments on the platform to submit their biometric information for passports and work visas. The new portal is part of the Ministry's initiative to modernize service delivery in the country, which includes making travel and immigration easier, lowering the risk of fraud, and protecting personal information. The Ministry plans to add more e-services to the platform soon.
