New Automated Pension and Social Security Registration and End-of Service Gratuity System
June 16, 2025

A new system automates and streamlines pension and social security processes as follows: automatic employee registration through the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) upon issuance of a work permit by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) for Emirati and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nationals; automatic end-of-service gratuity disbursement generation upon work permit cancellation for Emirati and GCC nationals; automatic company registration once a work permit application is submitted to the MOHRE for Emirati nationals; and automatic update of insured data, eliminating the need to submit a request to the GPSSA. These improvements eliminate non-automated processes in the mainland. Free zone companies should continue to follow the non-automated, online application process on the GPSSA portal. Employers are advised to closely monitor notifications from the GPSSA and take prompt action to complete any pending applications or actions. It is important to note that the GPSSA has not yet provided a timeline for the official implementation of this automation.
