New Zealand: Proof of Police Clearance Certificate Requests No Longer Accepted for Accredited Employer Work Visas
November 26, 2025
Effective December 8, 2025, individuals applying for an Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) must provide a valid police clearance certificate (PCC) with their application. Receipts that show that the applicant has applied for a PCC will no longer be accepted and may result in the application being denied or an AEVW being issued with a shorter validity. The change is intended to decrease AEWV processing times as applicants who submit all required documents, including a valid police clearance certificate, are expected to receive a quicker decision. Currently, Immigration New Zealand holds AEWV applications in an open status and contacts applicants to request any missing police certificates.
