Nigeria: Mandatory Landing and Exit Cards Introduced for All Travelers
May 9, 2025
All business and tourist travelers—including visa-exempt nationals—must now complete a landing and exit card through the Nigeria Immigration Service portal before entering or departing the country. This digital card is intended to monitor the duration of stay for all travelers, identify overstays, and automatically trigger applicable penalties, including visa bans. The measure is part of broader immigration reforms introduced by the Nigerian Ministry of Interior to streamline border control processes and align Nigeria’s talent mobility policies with international standards. Travelers are advised that technical issues may arise on the portal as the new system is rolled out.
