Panama: Temporary Suspension of Visitor Visas for Indian Nationals

The Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has suspended the issuance of Tourist/Business Visitor Visas for Indian nationals until further notice. The only exception is for individuals who require a tourist visa to enter Panama for the purpose of applying for a dependent residence permit in the country. They must apply for the visa directly at the National Immigration Service’s office in Panama City through an authorized attorney. No further details have been announced regarding when the suspension will be lifted. As a reminder, certain Indian nationals may still be visa-exempt to enter Panama if they hold an eligible visa or immigration status from another country. These include holding a multiple-entry visa or residence permit issued by Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States or an EU Member State. The visa or permit must have been used at least once to enter the issuing country and be valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry into Panama.
