People Management: How HR Can Prepare for the ETIAS Rollout

In an article published in People Management, Manager Andreia Florina Ghimis explains how HR teams can prepare for the European Union’s new European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS), expected to launch in late 2026.

ETIAS will require short-term travellers who do not need a visa, including UK citizens, to apply for pre-travel authorisation. Andreia advises employers to communicate the changes, support employees through the process and track validity to avoid disruptions. She also highlights the need for early compliance planning, recommending training, clear policies and the use of technology to manage risk.
