Fragomen is a roundtable sponsor for the Perth Mobility Focus on Thursday, 19 October 2023.
Fragomen Practice Leader, Hedvika Gibbs, and Senior Associate, Killian Philpott, are hosting a roundtable session discussing Risky Business: Helping Mobility Support Immigration Compliance in a Shifting Regulatory Landscape.
It’s 2023, we are all “zoomed out”, and many businesses are slowly returning to pre-pandemic levels of business travel. Assignments by stealth – the consequences of immigration non-compliance can be significant for organisations and individuals, now again in Australia and the region. However, grey zone of business travel often remains in the “too hard basket” for many companies. Often there isn’t a consistent approach and Mobility teams can get tasked with managing this issue despite having limited visibility over travellers who are not heading on long term assignments. We will ask for your views – and share ours – on topics which include:
- What is “work”, and how much can be done on business visas?
- What are the risks associated with business travellers undertaking work?
- How does your business manage the risks – and whose responsibility is it anyway?
- To what extent do we – and can we – rely on automation and tech solutions to mitigate risks?
The Perth Mobility Focus brings together WA’s leading global mobility and industry professionals, and key product specialists to navigate and discuss the ever-complex challenges faced within the Global Mobility industry. The event will provide an afternoon of insightful and thought provoking panel debates, interactive corporate roundtable discussions and numerous networking opportunities.
