Poland: Foreign Nationals Must Now Submit Visa Applications From Country or Territory Where Consulate is Located

Foreign nationals in Poland can no longer obtain a visa by post if they are outside the country or territory of the consulate to which they are submitting their application. Previously, foreign nationals from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia and Armenia were allowed to do so as a concession during the COVID-19 pandemic and due to the war in Ukraine.  Now, foreign nationals must be physically present in their country of application to apply and once they submit the application, Polish authorities will hold the passport for processing for 15-30 days, which will prohibit the foreign nationals from traveling during this time. Any applications that do not comply with the newly reinstated rules will be rejected by the Polish authorities and returned to the sender.
