Qatar: Forthcoming Expansion of Hayya Card to Expo 2023 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 Visitors

The Hayya Card will soon be expanded to individuals traveling to Qatar for the AFC Asian Cup 2023, which will be held January 12-February 10, 2024; and the Expo 2023, which will be held October 2, 2023-March 28, 2024. Hayya Card applications will have special entry procedures and conditions (i.e. the card will be linked to the event), and the government is expected to announce these details at a later date. The Hayya Card is expected to facilitate tourism as it has for other recent events, such as when it was introduced to identify fans and as an entry permit for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Ministry of Interior subsequently expanded the Hayya Card to all individuals entering Qatar for tourism through January 24, 2024.
