In this Mobility Minute, Abu Dhabi Practice Leader Iftekharul Haque discusses recent changes to the UAE's Emiratisation requirements. Emiratisation is a UAE government initiative that mandates the inclusion of UAE national talent in the region's workforce.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has revised its Emiratisation policy, requiring an increased participation by the private sector to hire Emiratis, with a goal of reaching a minimum incremental rate of 10% Emiratisation of the skilled UAE workforce by the end of 2026.
Not complying with these requirements will result in significant financial penalties and administrative restrictions.
