Employers are advised to take registration delays into account when planning assignments to São Paulo in the coming weeks. Registrations may be delayed beyond next week as the Federal Police works through backlogs caused by the week-long suspension. Work visa holders must register with the Federal Police within 30 days of entering Brazil, but they should not be subject to fines for failing to timely register if the Federal Police is responsible for the delay in registration.
