
Employers applying for H2 temporary residence work permits (which are for jobs not listed on the critical skills list) in Rwanda no longer need to conduct a labor market test. Instead, applicants will need to submit proof of a Rwandan understudy to transfer skills to the local workforce, which includes the understudy’s information such as a Rwanda identity card, employment contract, and qualification documents, among other documents. Employers also need to provide the name of the understudy on the application letter with the training program details. Submitting this required documentation will save the time required to have conducted a labor market test, which can take an estimated two months.
