Saudi Arabia: Increase in Denial Rate of Business Visit Visa Applications
December 15, 2025
Immigration practitioners have observed a marked increase in the denial rate of Business Visit Visa (BVV) applications. This is particularly the case for individuals who regularly travel to Saudi Arabia for business – especially those individuals where the intervals between visits are short. The rate of denials at the consular posts in Dubai and Mumbai is particularly pronounced. Additionally, the denials are affecting an increasingly large range of nationalities. In many cases, applications are denied regardless of whether all required documentation has been provided. In some instances, applicants are being asked to apply for a Temporary Work Visa instead. Amid the increase in BVV application denial rates, employers may need to reassess travel patterns, review the suitability of visa categories for frequent travelers, and adjust travel planning accordingly. Fragomen is monitoring the situation and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
