Scanned Signatures Allowed on Work Permit Applications
October 24, 2014
In most cases, foreign nationals and employers can enter scanned signatures in work permit applications, according to an announcement by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. The minister has, however, reserved the right to request original signatures from applicants in its discretion.
What This Means for Employers
The new signature policy means that employers and foreign nationals can circulate work permit applications by email. The legal representative's signature must be original. The policy should increase efficiency and allow for shorter application lead times.
