The visa-on-arrival option at Kuwait International Airport and single-entry commercial visit visa options have been reduced to a 30-day validity period, down from the original 90-day option. The visas are not extendable and foreign nationals who do not exit Kuwait prior to their visa’s expiration are subject to fines.
Although the policy has not been officially announced, these changes are likely due to efforts to strengthen national security.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Employers applying for commercial visit visas for their employees should ensure that employees enter Kuwait within 30 days of the permit’s issuance. Short-term visitors should be sure to exit Kuwait prior to the expiration of their visa-on-arrival in order to avoid fines or other penalties.
