South Africa: Additional Requirements Forthcoming for Spouses

Effective February 1, 2023, South African citizens and permanent resident spouses will be required to appear in person when their partners are filling applications for a relationship visa or permanent residence. Additionally, they will be required to present passport sized photos of both the applicant and themselves and sign a letter of support in the presence of the Visa Facilitation Service (VFS) employee. The new measures are aimed at strengthening the integrity of the visa and permit process.
