South Africa: Zimbabwe Exemption Permit Visa Waiver Application Outcome Digitized

Effective immediately, Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) holders who have applied for a General Work Visa Waiver will now receive their visa waiver outcomes via email. Previously, ZEP holders were required to physically collect their waiver application outcomes by visiting a VFS branch (this option is still available). As background, ZEP holders are waived from submitting certain documents to apply work in South Africa, but to benefit from this waiver, they must apply for a waiver letter. The Department of Home Affairs intends to implement similar digital initiatives for other visa and work permits in the coming months as part of the department’s digital transformation initiatives.
