Thailand: Digital Arrival Card System Replaces Electronic Travel Authorization System
July 25, 2025
The Thai government has replaced its Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) proposal with the rollout of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) program, which was fully implemented by May 2025. This shift was prompted by limitations in the ETA system (initially managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), which faced challenges in integrating with Immigration Bureau systems. By shifting to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) system (under the Immigration Bureau), all traveler information (e.g., identity, travel schedule, etc.) is now stored in one centralized database that integrates with automated border gates.
