
Thailand has announced plans for a new entry fee for visitors starting June 1, 2023. The proposed fee will be THB 300 for those arriving by air and THB 150 for those arriving by land or sea (the exchange rate at the time of the publication of this alert is THB 1 = USD 0.028). The entry fee for air travel will be included in the cost of the airplane ticket. The government has not yet announced the method for collecting the entry fee for land and sea travel. Transit passengers, cruise ship passengers not overnighting in Thailand, children under two years of age, foreign nationals holding Thai work permits, diplomatic passport holders and Thai nationals will be exempt from paying the fee.
