The UAE’s golden visa requirements have undergone important changes over the past year, as authorities aim to make the residency process more streamlined. Partner Haider Hussain shares with The National how a significant update to the 10-year residency programme allows individuals investing in off-plan properties (a real estate unit that is still under construction or in the early planning stages) to now apply for the golden visa, provided they meet certain criteria, including making a down payment of at least 50% of the property value or obtaining a bank guarantee for the remaining amount. These amendments align with the UAE's goal of attracting global talent and investment.
