Türkiye: Petroleum Sector Work Permit Exemption Ceases

The government has ended the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) work permit exemption for certain foreign nationals working in the petroleum sector. Affected individuals may still be eligible for a Special Contribution Exemption (SCE), which is a work permit exemption for foreign nationals identified by relevant public institutions as capable of providing important services to Türkiye in economic, socio-cultural, technological, and educational fields for up to three years. Foreign nationals eligible for the SCE will have their applications reviewed by the Ministry of Labor.
