United Arab Emirates: Extension of Entry Validity Period for all Visa Categories Now Available
February 9, 2023
The Federal Authority of Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (FAICCPS) announced a new service which will allow foreign nationals who were unable to travel to the United Arab Emirates within the initial 60-day validity period of their visa to extend this entry period for an additional 60 days. This extension is only available once and is available to foreign nationals entering on all types of Emirati visas. Previously, foreign nationals who did not utilize their visa within the initial 60-day validity period would have to cancel the visa and apply for a new one. In order to apply for an extension, the foreign national must: submit an application from outside the United Arab Emirates prior to entering the country on the FAICCPS portal or via the UAE PASS app; upload supporting documentary requirements (these will vary based on the visa category); and pay the required application fees of AED 200 (including service fees) and refundable financial deposit (if applicable for the visa category). Once the application is approved, the confirmation of the extension will be sent to the applicant via email.
