United Kingdom: Fee for Electronic Travel Authorisation for Gulf Cooperation Council Nationals Announced
June 6, 2023
When the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) comes into effect, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nationals and Jordanian nationals will only be required to pay GBP 10 for the ETA. This is compared to GCC nationals currently paying GBP 30 per visit to the United Kingdom under the Electronic Visa Wavier scheme, and Jordanian nationals GBP 100 for a visit visa. As a reminder, the ETA is a digital travel authorisation for visa-exempt travellers that, when in effect, will give permission for a person to board a plane for travel to the United Kingdom. It is designed to strengthen the control and compliance of UK borders. The application process takes less than 15 minutes and a decision is provided within 78 hours. The ETA will allow these nationals to visit the United Kingdom multiple times over a two-year period.
