United Kingdom: First APAC Youth Mobility Scheme Application Ballot Period Now Open

The first (of two) ‘ballot periods’ for application to the Youth Mobility Scheme for travelers age 18-30 from Hong Kong SAR, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan ROC will open January 17, 2023. For qualifying nationals from each of these countries, there are 800 places for the purposes of the scheme. If a person from each of these countries is selected in the first ballot, they can apply under the scheme. Those who are not chosen in the first ballot can make another application in a second ballot due to open in July 2023. British Overseas Citizens, British Overseas Territories Citizens or British Nationals (Overseas) do not need to enter a ballot to apply under the scheme. Successful applicants can live, work and study in the United Kingdom for a period of 24 months.
