United Kingdom: Right-to-Work Checks to be Expanded to More Types of Employment

The UK government has announced its intention to widen the scope of types of employment coming within the requirements to conduct right-to-work checks, as part of its focus on compliance and attempts to address illegal employment. Legislation and rule changes, particularly as applying to gig workers, are expected to give effect to these changes. We will report on related developments.
