March 20, 2023
The workers at seven UK passport issuing offices in England, Scotland, and Wales, including Durham, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Newport, Peterborough and Southport, are expected to go on strike from April 3 to May 5, 2023. The workers in the Belfast, Northern Ireland office are currently balloting and may also participate in the strike. The strikes are likely to significantly delay the processing and issuance of passports at one of the busiest times of the year, which regularly take up to 10 weeks to be issued.
