United States: USCIS Announces New Guidance on Form I-693 Medical Exam Validity Period
April 4, 2024

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that any Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, that was properly completed and signed by a civil surgeon on or after November 1, 2023, does not expire and can be used indefinitely as evidence to show that the applicant is not inadmissible on health-related grounds. USCIS made this determination in consultation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and based on advances in public health electronic notification.
This guidance is effective immediately and applies to all Forms I-693 signed by the civil surgeon on or after November 1, 2023. USCIS is accepting public comments on the update through May 6, 2024.
