Worksite Inspections Announced

The situation
The Population and Immigration Authority in Israel announced that it will conduct unannounced conduct worksite inspections in the coming weeks.
A closer look
The inspections will focus on labor and immigration compliance, violation of the terms under which work authorization was granted, and whether activities are performed at the locations stated in the work authorization application.
Impact
Legal action will be taken against companies found to be in violation of legal requirements. Fines can reach up to ILS 116,800 per violation; and penalties can include blacklisting of the company and imprisonment of responsible executives.

Clients are advised to conduct an internal preparatory mock audit to ensure compliance with immigration and labor laws.
