APAC Insight Series
The spread of COVID-19 across the world led to a steep drop in business migration as lockdown measures were introduced in countries around Asia Pacific.
The global effort to contain the virus through a succession of lockdowns has also impacted every country’s economy. It has also impacted businesses sending employees across borders and in most countries’ immigration processing was suspended.
Over recent weeks, certain countries in the Asia Pacific region have slowly eased restrictions on movement and introduced multiple directives to guide the general public and private sector employers as they return to sustainable and efficient operations.
In this series, Fragomen’s Asia Pacific immigration professionals share insights on Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Vietnam and how immigration has been impacted in each of these countries throughout the pandemic, challenges employers may face when remobilising international workers as well as guidance and advice on planning for remobilisation.
