Derek is an Associate at Fragomen’s Phoenix office, where he files PERM applications and assists with H-1B and other applications.
While working as an extern at Fragomen, Derek gained experience working on a range of immigrant petitions, including EB-1B, O-1, L-1A and L-1Bs, as well as responding to Requests for Evidence. Prior to joining the firm, he worked on family-based immigration petitions with USCIS and removal defense at a boutique law firm in Phoenix, Arizona. His primary focus was on humanitarian visas, filing applications for U Visas and VAWA clients. Derek also has experience with adjustments of status and naturalization, and has court experience defending clients on cancellation of removal and asylum applications.
Derek has provided pro bono consultations at the Mexican Consulate and remote legal screenings with Safe Passage Project.
Derek speaks English and Spanish.
