Jeff’s practice is informed by his early work managing the immigration challenges and complexities faced by the largest and most influential technology companies. His current focus is on serving hi-tech startups and rapidly growing companies based in Silicon Valley—companies that will become tomorrow’s technology giants.

Businesses experiencing rapid growth—particularly startups and hypergrowth companies—depend on expanding their workforce quickly, efficiently, and decisively. Jeff’s early experience helping Fortune 50 tech enterprises manage the movement of thousands of employees worldwide has proven an invaluable resource for these companies, which rely on him to build nimble, flexible immigration programs and policies that scale up in response to rapidly evolving business objectives, economic conditions and immigration regulations.

Central to this work is his ability to create viable pipelines into the workforce for employees graduating from world-class, U.S.-based educational institutions and the creative application of various visa types to realize this goal. Throughout, Jeff provides clear, effective instruction to clients in the throes of massive growth, helping them manage change and preemptively lay the foundations for future expansion.

Jeff’s personal history lends depth to his consideration for front-line employees working their way through the immigration process. He has lived in Spain, México, Ireland and Belgium, speaks fluent Spanish and is proficient in French, Italian and Portuguese.

A longstanding member of Fragomen’s pro bono committee, Jeff has represented pro bono clients in a wide range of legal matters, including petitions for DACA, asylum, family-based immigration, defense from removal, “U” nonimmigrant visa status, deferred action, humanitarian parole, naturalization and special immigrant juvenile status. He has coordinated complex international pro bono efforts requiring cross-border advocacy.

In 2010, Jeff was recognized for his contribution to Immigration Equality for pro bono support of legislation to amend the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1990 to recognize sponsorship rights for same-sex couples. In particular, Jeff drafted proposed legislation, Congressional testimony and met with Congressional legal staff to provide immigration insights on various legislative proposals.
