Our teams in the UK reinforced Fragomen's values of giving back to the local community in 2017. As a part of their community service efforts, our team participated in numerous activities to raise funds for Dementia UK, the Charity of the year for 2017. Some of the efforts to support Dementia UK included participating in Prudential Bike Ride, the Great North Run, hosting Valentine’s Day bake sale and an annual summer raffle.
Another key initiative for 2017 included partnering with Project Dirt. In all, our team of 47 volunteers devoted 266 hours to help with a wide variety of projects ranging from planting trees in a new urban orchard, designing and painting mural panels in collaboration with disabled students, and raising money for CARAS community center that supports refugees and asylum-seekers who live in South-West London and neighboring communities, and reconstructing an Iron Age house at Heeley City Farm in Sheffield.

Other key community service efforts in which our colleagues participated included annual Macmillan bake sale, London Legal Walk, Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children, and gifts for the Rotary Shoebox Scheme.
Overall our team raised £6,180.68 for charities in 2017 including £3,686.37 for chosen charity of the year, Dementia UK.
This year, our teams are looking forward to continuing their efforts, through upcoming events to raise money for our Charity of the Year for 2018, Macmillan.
