This week, Fragomen attorneys were proud to take part in the annual CUNY Citizenship Now! Call-In event. CUNY (City University of New York) Citizenship Now! provides free immigration legal services to individuals and families on their path to U.S. citizenship.
While Fragomen has participated the call-in since its inception, this year our firm kicked off the training day and participated in the event with a record number of participants, which included 18 partners and associates.
The call-in is an annual event where people can receive information on immigration issues such as citizenship, permanent residence, family petitions and deferred action. So far the organization has provided legal information and referrals to 120,000 callers through this event.
During the kick-off, CUNY also recognized Fragomen for our pro bono contributions with the 2016 Service to Immigrants Award. Fragomen became the first private firm to be honored with this award, which was received by Partner and Director of Communications Careen Shannon.
Thank you to all our professionals for dedicating their time to this event and for reinforcing our values by giving back to our community.
